STORIES FROM THE HILL 13: DANGER UXB
This is going to be a brief blog this week, containing a short video. Life has been very hectic of late with the football season reaching its climax. The games have come thick and fast – 3 in the space of the last 8 days. I have also spent a few days away in my home town of Lyme Regis, Dorset this week. Obviously I took the opportunity of meeting up with two old Sheffield boys Simon and Mark Harris. There will be a blog or two released using my video interview with them in due course. Yes, Lyme Regis did really look this stunning on Thursday of this week. I got some lovely footage of the Cobb on my iPhone using a gimbal.
Between Christmas and the New Year I hopped on a train down to St Erth on the London to Penzance line and was met by Kevin and Andrew Sheppard. Kevin lives in Hayle and Andy was visiting from the USA. They were both on the Hill between 1978 and 83. Kevin was in my first ever tutor group as a 2nd form pupil and showed me a one line subject report I had written on him back in 1980. Those were the days!
This week’s video features the Sheppard boys and the Kingham Hill School choir who participated in an episode of the ITV series “Danger UXB.” There is a box DVD set currently for sale on eBay (US) for any of you who might be interested.
